Maryl Chambers - Director Development and Primary Consultant
Maryl Chambers has spearheaded the development of TLO Limited’s Building Learning Power programme, helping bring Guy Claxton’s ground-breaking work to schools and teachers. Maryl is one of the founders of TLO, where she has applied her wide experience of designing learning-focused training to creating and developing the innovative programmes for which the company is renowned. She is co-author of many of TLO’s publications.
Professor Guy Claxton
MA (Cantab), DPhil (Oxon), FBPsSSince September 2008, Guy Claxton has been Co-Director of the Centre for Real-World Learning (CrL), and Professor of the Learning Sciences, at the University of Winchester.
He previously held the same title at the University of Bristol Graduate School of Education. He has a 'double first' from Cambridge and a DPhil from Oxford, and is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the Royal Society of Arts, and an Academician of the Academy of the Social Sciences. Originator of the educational Building Learning Power programme: helping young people become better real-life learners.

Professor Bill Lucas - Chairman of TLO
Since September 2008, Bill has been Co-Director of the Centre for Real-World Learning and Professor of Learning at the University of Winchester. He is also Chairman of The UK’s Talent Foundation. Bill is a senior visiting research fellow at the University of Surrey’s School of Management, a non-Executive Director of the Live Group, Chairman of the Talent Foundation and, with Philip Pullman, a patron of Pegasus Theatre in Oxford. He currently runs his own learning strategy business, The Bill Lucas Partnership. Previously Bill was the first CEO of the Campaign for Learning.Expertise

Graham Powell - Principal Consultant
Graham Powell has been Principal Consultant with TLO since 2000. Previously, he was headteacher of a large comprehensive school in Wiltshire, senior secondary inspector with Gloucestershire LEA and has held posts of responsibility at all levels within comprehensive schools. In recent years, he has established a widespread reputation for his work on coaching and the ways in which this essential leadership quality can radically improve schools at all levels. He is a distinctive trainer and speaker who is sought after throughout the U.K. for conferences, training events and seminars.
