3-day course for middle leaders & teachers, exploring the practicalities of embedding learning habits into the curriculum.
The aim of this course is to give a hand-picked team of teachers the skills and guidance to champion development of a deeper learning culture in school. The TLO consultant will work with up to 30 middle leaders and/or teachers, so they can evaluate and enhance the focus on learning in school. They will be able to make adjustments to pedagogy which will deepen the quality of pupils’ learning.
Your TLO consultant will cover the following:
Workshop 1
- What is learning capacity?
- Learning capacities and PLTS
- Understanding the role of PLTS.
- Learning-focused teaching
- The how of split-screen teachingInfusing PLTS into subjects, projects and themes
- Teaching routines to build learning capacity
- Recognising progress in learning habits
- Assessing learning across the school
- Developing learning conversations with staff and students
- Developing a way forward for the school
Further Information
- The course can be run for one school or a group of two or three schools. To ensure ease of transfer of the ideas into the school, we recommend at least eight staff attend from each school.
- The three days of the course are usually spread over two terms.
